Last Friday, the Morgan County High School Track team kicked off spring break at the Reese Hoffa Spring Break Invitational at Lakeside High School in Evans.

For the Lady Dogs, Alana Foster took eighth in the 200 meter dash running a 28.48. Drew Biersmith ran a 13:36 in the 3200 meter to take seventh place. Akia Kitchen finished seventh in the 100m hurdles with a 19.20 performance. The Lady Dogs 4x100m relay team of Alan Foster, Unique Hubbard, La’Meysia Wade, and Parker Spain closed the event with a fifth place finish on a 52.06 run.

In the field sports for the Lady Dogs, Addison Smith tied for fourth with a 4’08’’ jump in the high jump. Wade also scored a third place finish for a 15-10 jump in the long jump. Foster and Wade finished in second and third place respectively with 32-03 and 32-02.25 performances in the triple jump. In the shot put, Destiny Smith threw her way to fifth place with a 30 foot even throw. Finally Jamiah Cox finished in 10th with a 69-01 throw in discus.

For the boys team, Omar Lizarde Noriega finished second and Jack Greenfield finished third in the 110m hurdles. Joshua Jones claimed the runner up spot in the 300 meter hurdles with a 41.38 run. Greenfield finished the 300m hurdles in sixth while Quaterrian Mathis posted a ninth place finish in the event. In the 4x100 relay, the team of Kyle Kitchen, Tre Mapp, Darius Jackson, and Tavaris Wilson finished in seventh placed with a 46.67 run. Damien Walker, Kobridgette Lumpkin, Jared Gilbert, and Elijah Reynolds finished in sixth place in the 4x200. They were followed by Jacere Cooper, Javier LaGuin, Rodney Stephens, and William Jeffreys in seventh place in the 4x200. In the 4x400, Walker, Lumpkin, Gilbert, and Reynolds finished in eighth place.

LaGuin led the Dogs in long jump with a sixth place finish after a 19-11 jump. Walker had a third place finish in triple jump with a 41-01 performance. Jacere Cooper threw for 45-01.5 in shot put to take second place as well as a 125.9 in discus to close in second in that event as well. Solomon Myles finished in fourth in the shot put with a 42-04 throw. Chance Reid claimed first place in discus on a 133-01 throw.

The track teams are at North Oconee High School on April 16 for the Greater Athens Properties Invitational.
