Saturday, the Morgan County High School bass fishing team competed in the last regular season contest at Lake Lanier.

Landon Huff and Will Thomas continued to perform well as they claimed fifth out of over 100 boats. Huff and Thomas combined for five fish weighing 14.82 pounds. They are awaiting the weekend tally for Angler Of The Year to see if they moved from their current third place position. A top three finish for the duo earns them an invite to the Bassmaster High School National Championship on Lake Chickamauga in July.

Braydon and Jordan Rhodes finished in 58th place with four fish for 7.78 pounds. Michael Arienzo and Wyatt Spinks closed the event in 72nd with two fish for 4.06 pounds and finally Caden Nation and Walker Stephens caught one fish weighing 1.3 pounds.

Next for the team is the GHSA state championship tournament this Saturday on Lake Lanier.
