DEAR EDITOR:
I vote for more uplifting news stories on your front page! And, I’ll bet, I’m not the only one who’d “vote” for that suggestion.
Patrick Yost’s front page story this week is worthy of a Pulitzer, in my humble opinion.
What a delight to the eyes and the spirit it was to read of Officer Matthews’ heroics in saving the life of 2-week-old Lucia and also, the backstory of grandmother Maria’s Herculean efforts to bring her family safely to the US!
Surely all who read this beautifully crafted story were touched. And don’t we all need to have our spirits lifted — at least once a week? I know I do.
Thank you, Patrick. Thank you Officer Matthews. Thank you Maria. And thank you Josiah and Val for adding to the goodness of our community.
Babs Johnston,
Grateful Madison Reader
