DEAR EDITOR:

Thanksgiving is behind us and Christmas and New Year are fast approaching. What a joyous season!

However, it is also a very challenging time for alcoholics and other addicts. They see all the happy people around them. Inside they feel isolated, lonely. They don’t belong. Others of us cannot truly understand how they feel.

Fortunately two wonderful meetings are held all over the world and right here in Madison: AA and Al-Anon.

AA is a fellowship of alcoholics who meet twice weekly to encourage each other. Al-Anon is a fellowship for family and friends of alcoholics who meet once a week to encourage each other. Great organizations.

Look under the Community Calendar in the Morgan County Citizen for more information.

Madison
