DEAR EDITOR:

The Federal government has put the undue burden on our City leaders of distributing nearly $800,000 by 2026.

This money has to be spend on COVID relief. Since all of us have suffered from the pandemic, why not split it among the taxpayers? Every person who pays City taxes should get it returned.

Think of the boost to our local economy.

We could get national attention with the headline: “The taxpayers in Madison, Georgia are spending their own tax money.”

If we don’t help them, we may end up with another half a million dollar unused park.

Mike Laseter,

Madison
