A Washington Examiner story posted on Oct. 30 has a succinct summary of our current situation. “Inflation is at its highest level in decades. Store shelves are empty. The southern border is in chaos. Hundreds of Americans are still trapped in Afghanistan. China just tested a hypersonic missile. Employers can’t find workers to keep their businesses running. No wonder more than 60 percent say the country is going in the wrong direction.”
On top of that, we have the news that the Biden administration is in talks to offer $450,000 a person in compensation to immigrant families [read Illegal aliens] that were separated at the border during the Trump administration. A typical family of five would receive over $2 million. It has been pointed out that families of our military who are killed in action receive $400,000.
We also have President Joe Biden’s “Build Back Better Act,” a filibuster-proof $1.75 trillion budget reconciliation package that includes an $80 billion wealth transfer from Americans to illegal aliens via child tax credits. Biden also proposes $80 billion to beef up IRS audits of tax returns and the US Treasury proposes to track tax payer’s bank accounts. Making more than $10,000 in transfers in a given year would flag an account for reporting to the IRS. Note, anyone depositing their paycheck in a bank account would trigger the $10,000 threshold.
We are just beginning to see the problems caused by vaccination mandates. More than 26,000 New York City employees have refused Mayor de Blasio’s vaccine mandates. They include firefighters, police officers, and sanitation workers. Hospitals are closing down maternity wards because too many maternity workers have resigned over COVID vaccination mandates. American Airlines has joined Southwest airlines in canceling thousands of flights, and their unions claim that there will not be enough pilots and ground personnel to operate at full capacity during Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays.
And now, a new study published in the British medical journal, The Lancet, concludes that COVID-positive vaccinated people are just as likely to spread delta variant as unvaccinated people. If you want that in plain English it would be “vaccine mandates are useless.”
So it appears that we are indeed living in crazy times where everything we love about America is in distress and show no signs that it will get better in the near term. There is a message making its way through the internet that coins a new English word to describe not only the present but our future.
The new word is Ineptocracy. The definition of the word is: “a system of government where the least capable to lead are elected by the least capable of producing, and where the members of society least likely to sustain themselves or succeed, are rewarded with goods and services paid for by the confiscated wealth of a diminishing number of producers.”
