It turns out that the bad news for the Democrats is that they won the election. After 100 days, voters are realizing that the presidential candidate, who ran as a centrist, heads a far-left administration.

Everything is on the table, stacking the Supreme Court, stacking the Senate by making Washington, D.C., and Puerto Rico states, an unconstitutional federal takeover of elections, and opening our southern border to all comers, to name a few.

The Biden administration believes that the government can tax and spend its way to prosperity. He has proposed $6 trillion in new spending to be paid for by “taxing the rich.” Chris Christie is quoted in the UK Daily Mail that, “Joe Biden’s spending proposals are like what you would hear from a 15-year-old if you gave him a credit card with no credit limit on it.”

Nancy Pelosi and Congressional Democrats seem oblivious to the fact that President Biden is not very popular with the people. Nielsen reports that an estimated 26.9 million people tuned in to watch President Biden’s inaugural address to a Joint Session of Congress. But President Trump’s first address to Congress brought in 47.7 million viewers.

MSNBC had a hard time finding anyone who saw the whole President Biden address to congress. They found that some “just went to bed.” An MSNBC reporter from Atlanta said: “I’ve got to tell you, most of the folks that I’ve spoken to here did not actually watch Joe Biden’s address last night.” She added, “I’ve spoken to around a dozen folks and only two of them watched and listened to what he had to say last night.”

The 2021 Oscars (where Hollywood actors take turns bashing conservatives) also suffered a plummeting loss in TV viewers last week. Nielson reports a 58 percent, 13.75 million drop-off in viewers from last year.

The Polling numbers for Democrats do not look good. Breitbart News reports that: ”President Joe Biden’s half-open, half-closed border is creating chaos south of the border and is pulverizing his support among Latino and independent likely voters north of the border.” Breitbart presents a Quinnipiac poll showing that Biden’s policies have gotten him 64 percent disapproval among independents, and 55 percent disapproval among Latinos.

Voters are beginning to wake up to the reality that we have a far-left president who is even further left than socialist Bernie Sanders. Democrat plans to stack the Supreme Court and unconstitutionally add new states is a wake-up call to all who love our country and our free enterprise system. People are already voting with their feet by moving from blue states to red states where home prices are soaring. Blue states California and New York are losing two congressional seats while Texas is gaining two seats and Florida is gaining a seat.

State legislatures are fighting back against the draconian rules and edicts coming from the White House. The statehouses of Idaho, Montana, Arkansas, Utah and Oklahoma have passed legislation to prohibit the teaching of critical race theory in their states. Oklahoma went a step further and their measure would also prevent colleges and universities from requiring students to undergo training on gender or sexual diversity.

You could say that a hornet’s nest has been stirred. Nancy Pelosi might find herself to be the House Minority leader after the 2022 mid-term election next year when every house member is up for reelection.

Thanks for once again penning the logically-incongruent free-floating anxieties of an older white male.

It is hard to believe that you and I live in the same society, in the same country and at the same time. I watch and read and I come to none of the same conclusions as you.

I feel none of the deep seated fear of the future. In fact the recent past has reinvigorated my hope and optimism for the future of our people, our government and our institutions and principles.

Our system while nearly destroyed by the last administration, is in recovery. The pandemic is being dealt with in spite of the selfish that refuse to participate in protecting themselves and others through masking up and getting vaccinated.

The economy is improving in spite of additional aide to members of the public affected by the pandemic financially. Jobs are returning and wall street is setting records after the rightfully elected President announced that the rich will be taxed more.

And best of all the IRS will be receiving $80 billion to audit rich folks who believe that not paying taxes is what "smart" people do.

The President also intends to actually do something for infrastructure in spite of previous administrations failure to do anything other than trot out "infrastructure week" whenever they wanted to change the subject. . The US now has worse infrastructure than many banana republics we have paid to overthrow. Its embarrassing.

You see none of it, you see only doom, gloom and the slow road to becoming a minority. Based on how we treat minorities in this country you may have cause for concern but maybe you can opine on that next week.

However in the part of town where I live, the sun came up, chickens crowed, people went to work, they fixed the stoplight and neighbors waved at each other and engaged in small talk.

You need to take a few personal days and see if you can't re-center yourself. Have you considered giving up meat in your diet?
