Martha Hawk, 82, of Madison passed away on Wednesday, May 5, 2021. Martha was born on August 14, 1938 to Harold and Floyd Mitchell. She graduated from high school in Social Circle and from college in Statesboro, Georgia. She went on to teach at Decatur High School and then at Morgan County High School. After 9 years of teaching, she purchased a flower shop and went on to serve her community for 45 years making beautiful flower arrangements at Madison Flower Basket. Martha enjoyed attending church and loved playing piano and organ. She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister - Janice Burrell, a son - Noel Hawk, and a grandson - Conner Hawk She is survived by her husband of almost 60 years, Bobby Hawk, her son Neal and his wife Heather, grandchildren - Victoria Hawk, Mitchell Hawk, Zach Hawk and Allison Hawk Carter and Mason Carter. She had four great grandchildren - Keigan, Preslee, Colton, and Paisley. She is also survived by her sister, Ann Bryant and brother-in-law Tom of Gainesville, and brother Hal Mitchell and sister-in-law Kathie of Social Circle, and brother-in-law Bill Burrell of Gainesville. Funeral services were Friday, May 7, 2021 at 2:00 pm in the Chapel of Meadows Funeral Home with Rev. Jack Segars, Rev. Les Roberts, and Rev. Don Malcom officiating.
