Two more teens, including a 15-year-old Eatonton girl, have been arrested and charged with armed robbery stemming from an incident at the Budget Inn in February.
According to Det. Wes Thompson, Madison Police Department, Morgan County and Putnam County authorities executed an arrest warrant Monday for a 15-year-old female suspect in the armed robbery of a 20-year-old man at the motel. Thompson said a 16-year-old male Madison teen was arrested on April 14 and also charged with armed robbery. On Feb. 27, authorities arrested 17-year-old Jamarion Makel Clark and charged him with armed robbery, one day after three persons burst into the man’s room with a pistol and demanded money.
Thompson said the victim recognized Clark because the two had attended school together. Two other persons were masked. The victim told officers that the three forced him faced down on the bed, stuck a pistol in his face and demanded money. The man was also struck with the pistol. The incident occurred at approximately 2:30 a.m. The group took the man’s phone and fled.
Thompson said all three face armed robbery charges and that authorities are continuing to investigate the incident. “These are two of the others involved,” he said of the recent arrests. “There may be more.”
