A McDonald’s restaurant manager and an employee were both arrested and charged with simple assault after an argument allegedly over an apple pie order.
According to Madison City Police Department reports, both manager Marsonja Reynolds, 51, of Madison, and Jayda Denise Chapman, 19, of Madison, were arrested and charged with simple assault at the Eatonton Road restaurant at approximately 4:50 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 6.
Officers responded to a report of disturbance at the restaurant and dispatch advised they could hear screaming in the background and that the dispute had become physical.
Chapman was located next door to McDonald’s at the Chevron convenience store and alleged that Reynolds had “gotten mad at her for messing up an order with an apple pie.” Chapman alleged that Reynolds started to yell at her and Chapman told her she “didn’t need to get loud with her.”
Reynolds allegedly directed Chapman to leave the restaurant and Chapman said she refused because she had done nothing wrong.
Chapman also alleged that after Reynolds told her several times to leave, Reynolds allegedly pushed her and Chapman punched Reynolds. Chapman then walked outside the restaurant and Reynolds allegedly followed her and threw a cup of grease on Chapman. Chapman had some swelling and a red mark on her hand, reports state.
The entire incident was captured on the store’s video surveillance system, reports state.
