Christmas Day dust up at Waffle House ends in arrests

A Christmas day dispute over a to-go order turned violent at the Waffle House and ended with two persons being arrested.

According to Madison Police Department reports, both Alexis Shaianne Smith, 27, Madison, and Roderick Ramone Brown, 35, Madison, were arrested for disorderly conduct after they allegedly threatened a Waffle House employee.

Reports state that both Madison Police Department officers and Morgan County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a disturbance complaint at the Waffle House, north location, on Eatonton Road at noon on Christmas day.

When officers arrived, reports state, they observed several persons outside the restaurant “yelling.” Brown told officers that he had placed a to-go order and when he was given his order, he stated that the food in the order did not correspond to what he had requested.

Brown said he then, reports state, initiated a verbal argument with the Waffle House manager, a woman.

Smith, reports state, was “acting belligerent” when a deputy attempted to speak with her regarding the incident and was placed in a patrol car.

The Waffle House manager told police that there were several children inside the restaurant when the incident occurred. She said she offered Brown a refund and as she and Brown were walking outside the restaurant, Smith allegedly took a swing at the manager.

Reports state that Smith told officers she had tried to strike the manager.

Both Brown and Smith were then transported to the Morgan County Detention Center and booked into the jail.
