The Bostwick Masonic Lodge; Wellington Masonic Lodge #467, will be hosting a Brunswick Stew fundraiser event on Jan. 28 for the Hawk family.
On Friday, Dec. 16, 2022 a fire swept through the family’s Bostwick Highway home and killed Thomas Hawk, 39. Hawk died after entering the house to save his son, who had called his father to tell him the house was burning. Hawk was next door at the time. The son escaped the house after his grandfather tore a window air conditioning unit free. Hawk perished in the flames, however.
The family of four lost both their father and husband and their belongings, furniture and personal items in the fire.
According to Lodge member Steve Nelson, the Lodge is encouraging citizens to provide donations at the Brunswick Stew event being held at the Lodge in downtown Bostwick. The event will begin at noon at the Lodge on Saturday, Jan. 28.
Quarts of homemade Brunswick Stew will be available at $15 per quart and any and all donations will be accepted at the Brunswick Stew fundraising event.
