A group of Morgan County High School students were named the 2023 Literary Region Champs for 4AAA.
The Georgia High School Association State Literary Championship is an annual statewide competition in which Georgia schools send students to compete at the region level, with winners advancing to the state competition at the end of March.
“Our school won every single event at our regional competition this last week,” announced Dr. Lenae Rose, drama director for Morgan County High School.
“This included Charles McGregor for Boys Solo, Sora Rose for Girls Solo, Caitlyn Carter, Andrea Bailey and Mary Noggle for essay writing events, Drew Rice and Elle Moss for extemporaneous speaking, Rowan Reid, Avril Brown , Emma Elwood and Alli Bellew for acting events, Charles McGregor, Trey Palmer, Jackson LaBarre and Grayson Rimert for boys quartet, and Sora Rose, Emily Highfill and Grace Fowler for girls trio.”
Now these MCHS students will move on to the final round of competitions next week.
“We were the grand champions of our region and will compete at the state level on Saturday, March 25, at Bremen High School,” said Rose.
