Rutledge rang in the Holiday season last weekend with its annual Christmas in the Country celebration in the city’s Town Park.

Crowds gathered Saturday for a host of Christmas activities, including festive foods, holiday music, handmade crafts, and a parade led by Mayor Bruce Altznauer and Morgan County Sheriff Robert Markley, with good ol’ Saint Nick showing up for a surprise visit.

This year’s festivities also featured a Chili Cook-Off competition benefiting the Morgan County Special Olympics organization.

The Rutledge community also celebrated local business owners Jen Buzbee and Sarah Ghann as their downtown shop, Over Yonder Outpost, celebrated its one-year anniversary since opening.
