A new business has opened up in Downtown Madison, promising customers a natural pathway to reclaim their health.
Madison Naturopathy, owned and operated by Fran Hardman-Garcia, specializes in “non-invasive lifestyle consultation.”
Garcia promises to take clients under her wing, aiming at “educating and empowering you to make foundational changes to take back your health.”
Garcia is a certified traditional naturopath, certified natural health practitioner, certified holistic health practitioner, and a licensed Ecclesiastical holistic practitioner. She is also a certified SHAPE Reclaimed practitioner.
Garcia looks to natural remedies and practices, as well as diet-based changes, to restore and enhance healthiness in her clients.
“I do not diagnose disease or prescribe medication,” said Garcia. “I strongly believe in the body’s innate ability to heal itself. I rely on lifestyle therapy and nature’s whole foods and herbs for wellness care.”
Garcia is originally from Madison, but moved away to pursue her career in naturopathy.
“I was born and raised in Madison,” said Garcia. “My husband and I recently moved back to the area because I wanted to return home and open my new practice.”
Madison Naturopathy celebrated its grand opening last Friday, surrounded by Main Street Director Karen Robertson and other city officials along with members of the Madison-Morgan Chamber of Commerce.
Madison Naturopathy treats numerous ailments and conditions, such as: recurring headaches, sleep problems, anxiety, depression, irritability, hormonal imbalances, immune issues, digestive issues, weight gain, emotional eating, food or seasonal allergies, aches and pains, fatigue and nutritional deficiencies.
Garcia promises to “consider each client’s unique physical, mental, emotional, genetic, environmental, social and spiritual factors when forming a wellness plan.”
“You can expect your first visit to last approximately one-and-a-half to two hours, since building a strong relationship is an important component of effective care. This visit will include discussion about your medical history, diet, use of alcohol/drugs/tobacco, sleep, exercise, and stress levels.”
After a thorough consultation, Garcia creates a tailor-made regiment to address the appropriate ailments or concerns.
“The goal of naturopathic care is to address the root cause on an illness because it’s intended to be a long-term solution,” said Garcia.
