Whew! I’m just so flat happy! That gullywashin’ rain we had last week is finally OVER! The grass is green, the birds are chirppin’, the squirrels are stealin’ food outta Momma’s birdfeeder … WHACK! What the? Who knocked that squirrel unconscious with that ding dang beanbag? Momma! What in the Sam Hill do you mean you’re practicin’? Oh me! Y’all Momma is plannin’ on becomin’ the champion to end all champions of the annual Corn Hole Tournament this Saturday, June 15 at the Madison Airport! Specifically, it’s all goin’ down at The Hanger located at 1878 Airport Blvd. in Madison! Registration begins at 3 p.m., the tournament starts at 4 p.m. and the dinner and party starts at 6 p.m.!

Ok so all proceeds will benefit the Humane Society of Morgan County (a no-kill animal shelter located in Madison) and Lord Have Mercy they’re givin’ away $1,500 in prizes to the tournament winners! Ding Dang! Ok so tickets are $35 and that covers supper and drinks! Plus Madisonian Ed Lathum himself is overseein’ the cookin’ of the BBQ! Visit the website “” for tickets and to register for the tournament online! You can call the Humane Society of Morgan County at 706-343-9977! Hey and they have some right nice sponsors for this event too, including: Amici, EdwardJones, Rubyboo’s, Barkin’ Dogs Shoe Co. and McGinnis Realty! Wow! Y’all don’t wanna miss this fun event!

Flower Power! Momma always says you gotta “Bloom where you are planted” and honey that is exactly right! And, one of my most favorite people in the entire universe, Madisonian Wendy Mason, is doin’ just that! Ok so Wendy just retired as Vice President of Sales and Marketing for SellEthics Marketing Group, Inc. – a company she began working with in 1999!

Anyhow, Wendy just ain’t gonna sit on her laurels honey! She has already formed a brand spankin’ new company called Madison Flower Co., and it’s based right here at home! So Wendy has planted a wide variety of flowers and she does most everything herself: planting, getting up early to pick the flowers, sort them, package them and deliver them to Farmview Market located at 2610 Eatonton Road in Madison, where they are beautifully displayed near the entrance!

These bouquets are just beautiful, and the best part is that they are lovingly and locally grown! So get on over to Farmview and pick up a bouquet today! What better way to lift someone’s mood? What better way to say I Love You to a friend or decorate your table for a dinner party? These flowers are not only beautiful, but they are super affordable, ranging from $9.99 to $12 dollars! Plus they last a really long time! And, I should know! Check it all out at Farmview!

A Grand Welcome at the Welcome Center! If you pop into the Welcome Center located on East Jefferson Street in Madison, you’ll see a new familiar face! I’m talkin’ about Jeannie Clark! Everyone was so sad to see Artisan Alley close, a store Jeannie owned and operated with her husband Gordon. Following Gordon’s passing, Jeannie sold the real estate on West Jefferson, but she is still operating Artisan Alley online! You can check it out at Plus she’s now serving as a fabulous ambassador to visitors at our Welcome Center! Pop in and say hello to Jeannie!

Yikes I’ve gotta split this scene! But before I go, if you’re not already subscribin’ to the Morgan County Citizen, honey what in the Sam Hill are you waitin’ on? Call us today at 706-342-7440 and we’ll get you a subscription to the best weekly newspaper in the Great State of Georgia! And, that’s God’s honest truth!

Ok that’s it for the Buz on Bizz! Y’all be real sweet now and don’t worry ‘cause: You’re all invited back next week to this locality, to have a heapin’ helpin’ of Citizen hospitality. Biz Buzz that is. Take your shoes off. Sit awhile. Y’all come back now, ya hear?
