Ok y’all! It’s beginnin’ to look a lot like Christmas everywhere you go! And, ding dang it, I flat can’t wait! But before we get into all the shop, dine, sip and stroll news, the Buzz needs to give a big Shout Out to the City of Madison! That’s ‘cause the City just recently installed a heap of in-street crosswalk signs! I mean you just can’t miss ‘em and it truly makes drivers more likely to slow down at the crosswalks! So now we’ve got signs, flags, well-marked crosswalks and in-street signs! Thank you City of Madison for making our streets safe for everyone!

And, just smack in time too, ‘cause honey it’s ‘bout to get crazy, Christmassy in Madison and Morgan County! If you didn’t already know, Main Street Madison’s Shop, Sip and Stroll event is slated for Saturday, Nov. 16! Shops open at 10 a.m. and live music begins around 1 p.m.! Right! So we’ve got tons of our local merchants and restaurants participating, offering special promotions, discounts, drawings, free gifts, open house events, demonstrations, book signings and complimentary libations and yummy treats! Now if that don’t beat all I don’t know what does! Talk ‘bout gettin’ into the Christmas mood to SHOP LOCAL! Main Street will have a tent installed next to the Welcome Center with complimentary water, shopping bags and other fun giveaways! So if you haven’t already marked your calendar, honey get to it and make sure all your friends know ‘bout it too! You can also help support our local restaurants and merchants by sharing the Shop, Sip and Stroll event on Madison Main Street’s Facebook page! Hey and Main Street Director Ann Huff just called to let us know that a whoppin’ 27 downtown businesses are participating! I mean that’s just about all ding dang downtown! So Ann says “Get your Christmas on cause you don’t want to miss this fab event!” See you there or you’ll be super square!

Hey and the Buzz popped into the Madison Artists Guild’s shop on Main Street yesterday to check out their super fun and fabulous Holiday Market section! I mean it is flat stuffed with cool handmade gift items created by local and regional artists! I flat love it! Right so Becky Sherrell showed me all around and I just couldn’t believe it! The Holiday Market at the Guild’s shop located at 123 South Main Street in downtown Madison has everything from felted bags and ornaments, original paintings, jewelry, painted gourds, quilted table runners that are amazing and much more! Y’all head over there and check it all out! Prices are great too! Hours are Tuesday through Saturday from 11 a.m. til 5 p.m.!

Oh My Gosh! Y’all are gonna flip! Atlanta Homes and Lifestyles magazine is hostin’ it’s annual Home for the Holidays Designer Show house and Marketplace to benefit Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta and honey the big news is that out of 18 design teams, three of them have homes in Madison! I’m talkin’ all about Zeb Grant owner of the amazing local Zeb Grant Design floral and interior shop located in Madison, Jimmy Stanton owner of Atlanta’s furniture showroom Stanton Home Furnishings and Randy Korando and Dan Belman of the Boxwood Gardens and Gifts shop located in Atlanta! All three of these local designers have beautiful homes right here in Morgan County! This is a big deal! We are home to famous designers for sure! The Buzz is gonna head up to check it all out next week and will report back!  The event is open from Nov. 14 through Dec. 8 at a beautiful 5,500 square foot, five bedroom home at 4825 Woodvale Drive in Atlanta! You can check it all out and purchase tickets to tour the home and holiday market by visiting!

Oh and I almost forgot! The Madison-Morgan Chamber of Commerce is hostin’ a Women In Business luncheon event Wednesday, Nov. 13 at the Madison ChopHouse Grille that will feature guest speakers Nancy Launius of Thrifty Mac along with her team! They’ll talk about how to have a stress-free holiday and the benefits of CBD oil products! The Cost is only $15 per person!
