The Madison-Morgan Boys and Girls Club held the second annual Dancing with the Stars fundraiser on Nov. 14 and raised over $35,000 dollars. Three-hundred people attended the event, held at hall of The Madison Morgan Cultural Center. “I am still pinching myself. We are so lucky to be part of this amazing community we have,” said Anne Trulock, one of the volunteers who coordinated this year’s event. Trulock danced in last year’s event with her husband, Robert Trulock, and they were one of the winning couples. “Money is still coming in. If people want to continue to make contributions, we are accepting them,” said Julie Speyer, another coordinating volunteer who organized the event. This year, the two winning couples were Ginger and Harry Beverly and Kim and Rob Watts. The Beverly couple won for popular vote and the Watts couple won for judges favorite. Each couple took home their very own disco ball as their winning prize. “It’s quite the coveted award,” said Trulock. The Dancing with the Stars competition has become the primary fundraiser for the Boys and Girls Club.
