The City of Madison Animal Control and Main Street Vet held a reduced cost "Vet-to-Pet" clinic with free sterilization for male dogs at the Gilmore House on Burney Street on Saturday, Oct. 26. More than 30 dogs were treated including 18 dogs which were sterilized. The clinic was scheduled to run from 1 p.m. until 3 p.m. but because of overwhelming participation, it lasted until 6 p.m. "It was absolutely amazing to be able to sterilize 18 dogs in one afternoon," said Cindy Wiemann, Madison Animal Control Officer.
