I love to sing about heaven! Do you ever think about heaven? I think about it all the time.

1 John 3:2 says, “Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when He shall appear, we shall be like Him; for we shall see Him as He is.”  Heaven is not some myth, and it is not a figment of our imagination. It is as sure as the promises of God in the scriptures: “I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto Myself; that where I am, there ye may be also (John 14:2, 3).”  “As it is written, eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love Him (1 Corinthians 2:9)”

The anticipation of God’s tomorrow makes it possible for Christians to live victoriously and joyfully today regardless of life’s circumstances. Until the day, however, may we know in part the joy of glorifying God as we join our voices in praise and thanksgiving to the One who made it possible for us to sing for all eternally.

Golden streets? Jasper walls? Crystal seas? Jeweled crowns? Certainly, but much, much more. No mortal mind can fully comprehend what Heaven will be. One thing I know is that that the prime occupation of Heaven will be the worship and praise of our Lord Jesus. One chorus we could be singing is Revelation 4:11, “Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honor and power; for Thou hast created all things, and for Thy pleasure they are and were created.” Here is a thought: Nobody dreams of music in hell, and nobody conceives of heaven without it!

Think of stepping on shore, and finding it heaven! Of taking hold of a hand, and finding it God’s hand. Of breathing new air, and finding it celestial air. Of feeling invigorated, and finding it immortality. Of passing from storm and tempest to an unbroken calm. Of waking up, and finding it Home! – Anonymous
