April 5! Well, the date is here for “Old Buckhead Day.” There will be the 5K-road race at 8 a.m. You may participate by getting in touch with ACTIVE.com. The price will be $25 at this time. At 10 a.m. the parade will be at the Buckhead Baptist Church. Get your floats, tractors, and old cars and get ready to go to the fire station.

Just come on and join in for a day of fun that last until 3 p.m. you’ll be glad that you did! The Belles of Buckhead enjoyed a February lunch at Richard’s with hostesses Countess of Travel, Princess Dragonfly and Lady Catherine. Eloise Slaughter’s daughter Darlene from Colorado was the special guest.

Birthdays were for Linda Pennington, Sheila Shupp and Linda Sky. A shopping trip to Hamrick’s in North Augusta is being planned. Ross and Mary Ann Duke moved to Colorado. She’s Robert Smith’s daughter. Dudney Harris went to Tennessee to see friends that he went to school with from K-12. Ellie Massey had a birthday party on March 29. She was two years old.

Happy belated birthday Ellie! Jo Ann Bryant, Jennifer and Sarah Doran went to Athens for a family lunch with Jo Ann’s sister’s daughter. Betty Ann Griffin from Gordan visited Betty and Macon Moore Sunday afternoon. She’s Betty’s niece. Don’t forget the singers that will be at the Buckhead Baptist Church on April 13 at 6:30 p.m. The River Town Boys and the Gateway to Heaven will be there. On April 12 the men of Buckhead Baptist Church will have a skeet shoot.

The Brotherhood at the Lake Oconee Baptist Chapel will be on April 8 at 6:30 p.m. there will be fellowship, devotion, music, fun and low country boil. Sunday school breakfast on April 6 at 9:30 a.m. Biscuit, sausage, gravy, eggs, grits and maybe a surprise. The Easter Sunrise service will be April 20 at 7 a.m. resurrection worship; He is risen Praise as the sun is rising over the lake. Then a fantastic fellowship breakfast. Both Spirit and body will be blessed. There will be an Easter musical, “O What a Savior,” by the choir on April 20 at 11 a.m. Have a great week!
