Jane Royal was nominated last week for a position on the executive committee for the Georgia Trust for Historic Preservation, a nonprofit organization, whose mission is to “work for the preservation and revitalization of Georgia’s diverse historic resources and advocate their appreciation, protection and use.”

Royal, who has served on the Georgia Trust’s board of trustees for the past three years, co-chaired the Georgia Trust’s Fall Ramble, “Madison Unseen,” in October of 2013. Mark McDonald, president and CEO of the Georgia Trust, said that only nine members of serve on the executive committee and that being nominated is “quite an honor.” “I’m just over the top excited,” said Royal about the nomination. “It was all a huge surprise. It’s a great organization.”
