Roy Mack Thomas, 53, died August 10, 2014. He was born February 16, 1961 to George Thomas Sr. and Mamie Thomas who preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by his oldest brother Arthur Hunter. Roy Mack was a special son, dedicated husband, loved upon brother, outstanding uncle, everlasting friend, papa and forever member of McHughes Hill Baptist Church in Madison under the leadership of the Rev. G. C. Brown.
Sweet memories will be cherished and unforgettable by his wife Annette Driskell-Thomas of Snellville.
His siblings will share with each other the growing up moments of a lifetime with their love upon their baby brother. Shared by Ozie Davenport, LaGrange, Odessa Wright (Ernest), Madison, Laura Moore, Atlanta, George Thomas Jr., (Dogbama), Decatur, Kate Barber (Clifford), Atlanta, Harvey Thomas (Linda), Madison, Shirley Williams, Winder and Doris Chapman (Willie), Rutledge.
During his school years in the Morgan County School System and years beyond he became an everlasting friend to many. As he and his siblings grew up he became an outstanding uncle to many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and adding to his love, a host of relatives.
After a few more years he later became known as a papa and uncle, grandpapa, to Amari, Jeremiah, Jordan and Brandon McClendon.
Funeral service was held Friday, August 15 at Jones and Turner Chapel with interment in Low Mosley Chapel Cemetery. The repast was held at the home of Willie and Doris Chapman. Ladies of blossoms were Marie Driskell, Lisa Sandford-Driskell, Felecia Williams, Alice Hardwick, Martha Willis and Marilyn Bugg.
Escort of casket were Trace Thomas, Eddie Driskell, Ulysses LaGuin, Eugene Hardwick, Montray McClendon and Leon Williams. Jones and Turner Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
