Ralph Head, 64 of Madison, died unexpectedly July 15, 2013. He was born in Atlanta on September 7, 1948 to Charlie and Frances Coffey Head. He served in the United States Marine Corps. He spent his career in several fields before going back to school and earned a degree in Forestry from the University of Georgia. He was an active volunteer with Habitat for Humanity. He enjoyed studying history and spending time outdoors. He was a talented carpenter.
Mr. Head also cherished his time spent white water canoeing. Mr. Head is survived by a daughter Anna Head and a brother Roger Head and a nephew Charlie Head.
The family received friends from 5-7 p.m. Saturday, July 20 at A.E. Carter Funeral Home. The funeral service was held at 3 p.m. Sunday in the chapel. Interment followed at Sandy Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.
