Glenda Wilson Hodges

Glenda Wilson Hodges, 67, of Madison, and formerly of Bainbridge, passed away on September 14, 2013, after a long and courageous battle against breast cancer. She was born in Americus,  on June 3, 1946 and was valedictorian of the 1964 class at Webster County High School in Preston. She graduated from Georgia Southwestern College in Americus, in 1966, and worked as a secretary at the Georgia Department of Labor in Albany, and United Trust Life Insurance Company in Albany. Later in life, she worked as a paraprofessional at Decatur County Schools in Bainbridge. She married Glenn Clinton Hodges Jr. of Bainbridge and after living in Ormond Beach, Florida, they settled in Bainbridge, where they raised their family. She was a lifelong Presbyterian and was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Bainbridge. Her passions included gardening, playing bridge with friends, and caring for her beloved daughter, Peyton Amanda Hodges, and three grandchildren. She is survived by her daughters: Heather Hodges Schlabach (Mark) and Peyton Amanda Hodges, both of Madison. She was known as “G.G.” to her three grandchildren: Caroline Schlabach, Jane Schlabach, and Jack Schlabach, all of Madison. She was preceded in death by her husband, Glenn Clinton Hodges Jr., and her parents, John Francis Wilson and Frances Herlovich Wilson.
