Juanita Huff died February 20, 2014. She was born April 5, 1923 to parents Howard B. and Clara W. Burroughs, both deceased. She married the guy next door, Doyle Huff. They had 52 years together. They had two children William Lawrence Huff and Pamela Huff Scruggs.
Mrs. Huff was supervisor of the high school lunch room after retiring from First National Bank. She was a member of First United Methodist Church of Madison and served on various committees. She was a member of the Georgia Mallory Sunday school class, First United Methodist Women, the Intercessory Prayer Ministry and the Prime Timers. She was a member of the Historical Society, the Madison-Morgan Cultural Center and the Red Hatters. She enjoyed playing cards, reading, traveling and spending time with friends.
Mrs. Huff was preceded in death by her husband Doyle L. Huff, her daughter Pamela Huff Scruggs and brothers J. L. Burroughs and H.B. Burroughs. She is survived by her son Larry Huff and Joanne and son-in-law Steve Scruggs; her grandchildren Joe and Dena Huff, Kim and Ed Hoy, Geanie and Joe Blanton, Pam and Bill Lee and Lisa and Shane Foster; 11 great-grandchildren, two nieces and four great nieces and nephews.
The family received friends at 2 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 23 at A. E. Carter Funeral Home. A graveside service was held at 4 p.m. at the Madison City Cemetery. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, March 2 at the First United Methodist Church of Madison with a reception to follow.
