Faye Allen Payne was born in Madison on May 5, 1931 to Essie and George Allen.
She entered Heaven’s gates on January 19, 2014 at her home in Anaheim, California surrounded by her family.
She was 82 years old.
She attended Morgan County High School and graduated in 1949.
Faye lived and worked in Madison and Rutledge most of her life, moving to California two years ago to live with her daughter and son-in-law.
She was a member of Rutledge Baptist Church for many years. Faye will be especially remembered for her quick wit, good-natured sense of humor and her great love of family.
In her earlier years, she also enjoyed gardening, cooking and simply spending time with her friends and family.
In addition to her husband, Jack J. Payne, her daughter, Joyce Henson and grandson, Chris Henson preceded her in death.
Faye is survived by her cherished daughters and son-in-laws, Phyllis and Lowell Messer of Rutledge, Cindy and Al Soruco of Anaheim, Calif.; eight loving grandchildren, Richie Messer, Stephanie (Ray) Austin, Scott Henson, Leslie (Scanlon) Backus, Phillip Messer, Deidra Canady, Lauren (Tony) Guillory and Steven Messer, and 13 great grandchildren. She also leaves behind numerous loving relatives and friends.
A Memorial Service will be held at on 2 p.m., Saturday, February 1, at Rutledge Baptist Church in the city of Rutledge with Rev. Wayne Ghann officiating.
Burial will be held in private. Relatives and friends are welcome at the service to celebrate her life and love.
