The Morgan County High School (MCHS) JV girls cross country team placed highly at the North Oconee Home Meet on Sept. 5, with Yakira Chapman taking first place with a time of 25:56.36. Carolina Zant, Jessie Pagett and Maddie Allen also placed in the top 10 for the JV girls’ race.

Zach Stone finished in the 24th spot of the varsity boys’ race with a time of 19:53.06. Luke Zimmerman came in 33rd place in that race as well, and, overall, the team placed eighth out of 10 teams with an average time of 21:34.11.

On Sept. 14, the MCHS cross country team compete in the Seventh Annual Eagle Invitational at the East Jackson High School. Races begin at 9:30 a.m. and will continue until approximately noon.
