The Morgan County High School (MCHS) boys golf team took 11th place at the Georgia High School Association (GHSA) AAA state tournament on Monday, May 19. The AAA statewide tournament was played at Belle Meade Country Club in Augusta. The MCHS boys finished 11th as a team out of a total of 16 teams with a combined score of 333, which was 45 strokes over par. Eamon Owen was the highest scoring individual from Morgan County, tying for 29th place with a score of 80. Gregory Pecore tied for 50th with a score of 83, as did Carson Womack.
Baylie Fowler tied for 67th with a score of 87, Levi Ewing tied for 80th place with a score of 91, and Zach Webb placed 90th with a score of 96. 8-AAA opponent North Oconee High School took first in the tournament with a score of 302, and Oconee County placed third at 304.
