To the Editor:

On behalf of the historical building that Kathi Russell purchased at 200 West Washington: The building was deconstructed in 2013. Plans are to reconstruct this building and I believe that it is a wonderful idea for our community. 200 West Washington Street was the first Black entrepreneurial landmark here in Madison. Our ancestor worked hard to make a living for their families. “We the people of the United States, in Order to form a more perfect Union, establish Justice, insure domestic Tranquility provide for the common defense, promote the general welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America.” We the citizens of Madison want to see this historical building reconstructed. Let us reconstruct this building!
