On July 9 Phalon Ladarious Robertson, 20, Bostwick, was arrested and charged on outstanding warrants for battery and cruelty toward children in the third degree. According to reports, a deputy observed Robertson at a basketball court in downtown Rutledge. The deputy reported that he had knowledge that Robertson had warrants for his arrest. The deputy called for backup and both officers approach Robertson and arrested him without incident. Earlier, a second report states, a woman on Fairplay Street in Rutledge alleged that Robertson and two other men entered her residence and started to watch television. The woman said Robertson got up to retrieve his phone and then allegedly began beating one of the men around the head and shoulders. The complainant said she told Robertson to stop and he refused and, she said, threatened to walk to his car and retrieve a gun and shoot people inside the residence. The threats were made in front of children, reports state.
On July 13 an information report was filed at a Brown Lane location. According to reports, a man told an officer that when he was checking on his property on Brown Lane he noticed an open gate. The complainant said that as he was attempting to put another lock on the gate he heard several gun shots. On July 12 an information report was filed at a metal recycling business on Woodkraft Road. According to reports, a woman said a man came to the business and alleged that his mother had been “cheated.” The woman said the man made a vague threat and left but then called the business several times. On July 11 a burglar report was filed at a Clack Road location. According to reports, a man alleged that while on vacation a man acquainted with his daughter broke into the complainant’s residence and removed the keys to a red Chevy Trailblazer. The complainant alleges that the suspect then drove the vehicle while the family was on vacation but returned the vehicle prior to the family coming home. The complainant said he fears the man is using the vehicle to sell drugs. On July 11 a theft by taking complaint was filed at a Centennial Road, Rutledge location. According to reports, a man said that sometime between 9 p.m. and 8 a.m. someone entered his property and removed a 52” Zero Turn mower, two leaf blowers, two weed eaters, and edger and a trimmer from a utility trailer parked at the complainant’s house. On July 11 a fraudulent activity complaint was filed at a Monticello Road location. According to reports, a woman stated that when her debit card was declined she learned that someone had removed more than $3,000 from her checking account. The woman said fraudulent activity began around June 9 and numerous transactions were made in several different states.
On July 10 a criminal trespassing complaint was filed at an Eatonton Road deer processing location. According to reports, a man stated that sometime between June 29 and July 10 someone had forced open a door to a cooler. Nothing was reported missing, however. On July 9 a battery complaint was filed at a Hawkins Academy Road, Social Circle, location. According to reports, a woman said she and her daughter engaged in an argument regarding the daughter’s refusal to help around the house. The woman said during the argument the daughter slapped her on the head and the mother slapped the daughter across the head, grabbed her arm and told her to leave. On July 9 a domestic violence complaint was filed at an Eatonton Road location. According to reports, a man said that while he was texting his sister his wife took his phone to see who he was texting and then noticed that he had texted a picture of himself with no shirt to a female co-worker. The man said he and his wife then engaged in a “tussle” over the phone and a verbal argument that became heated. On July 9 a sexual battery complaint was filed at a Fairplay Street location after a woman alleged that a 20-year-old man had asked her 14-year-old daughter to show him her buttocks and that he touched the juvenile’s buttocks. On July 7 a verbal dispute complaint was filed at a Lower Apalachee Road location. According to reports, a woman said after she told her son to call a man to remove three television sets in the yard, the son struck the woman’s front porch with a broom handle and a second son allegedly grabbed the woman and dragged her back into the residence and told her to quit yelling at the first son. The woman alleged that two other persons at the residence were complicit to restraining her and that all four live at the residence. The woman said she wants all four to leave the residence.
