Milfred Franklin was born in Madison on August 12, 1979.

Coach Franklin played baseball and cross country at the Morgan County High School before majoring in Middle Grades education at Piedmont College. Coach Franklin has been teaching in Morgan County for seven years, and he is now a Physical Education and Health teacher at the Morgan County Middle School, where he is also the Athletic Director and coach for the MCMS football and boys basketball teams.

In his free time, Coach Franklin enjoys cooking on the grill, traveling and watching sports.

What college and professional teams do you root for?

Franklin: For college: BAMA, UGA, and Sooners. For professional-:Steelers, Dodgers, Red Sox, and Braves. I was a Boston Celtic fan until three of the main people got traded this past month: (Doc Rivers, Kevin Garnett and Paul Pierce. Spurs because of Gregg Popovich. I like more of the old school players.)

What was your dream job when you were growing up?

Franklin: Working in computer designing.

What are some of your favorite things to cook on the grill?

Franklin: Chicken and steaks

What is something that your students and athletes would be surprised to know about you?

Franklin: CJ [Turman] and I compete against each other all the time in Call of Duty Black Ops 2 on PS3. He has the upper hand on the NBA2k13, but we are neck and neck with the Call of Duty game.
