Geraldine S. Warfield, 84, wife of 62 years to Harold B. Warfield, died Wednesday, July 3, 2013.
A native of Sarasota, Fla., she was the daughter of the late Early D. and Anne Hill Stephens. She was a homemaker and member of Briarwood Baptist Church. Gerry will always be remembered for her strong faith in the Lord and her untiring servant heart. She had a contagious passion for Missions. She volunteered along with Harold for over 18 years serving locally, throughout the U.S. and internationally. Numerous trips to Brazil and Alaska were among her favorites. Most recently she encouraged and supported team members serving in an orphanage in Zambia, Africa.
In addition to her husband, survivors include her children: Burns (Karen)Warfield, Linda (Ken) Coleman, Wayne (fiancé Arlette) Warfield, Mark Warfield; sisters: Doris Hobson and Frances Duval; grandchildren: Sarah, Elizabeth, Rachel, Hannah, Chase, India and Jamee; three great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Saturday, July 6 at 2 p.m. at Briarwood Baptist Church with Rev. Mike Ricks officiating. Burial followed at Warfield Family Cemetery on Colham Ferry Road. The family received friends from 6 to 8 p.m., Friday, July 5 at Lord & Stephens West Chapel.
