Fannie Lee Heard Cannon, 78, died August 21,2013. She was born in Morgan County on March 24, 1935 to Corry and Fannie Taylor Heard. She was affectionately known as “Sista” by all who knew her. She was a member of Little Indian Creek Baptist Church. She was married to Willie A. Cannon.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, brothers and sisters Lacrisse Heard, Nuna Bell Heard, Rebecca “Dolly” Heard, David Carter Heard, Butler Heard, Corry Heard Jr. Carrie Mae Heard and Eddie Heard.

She is survived by her two children, Jake Heard and Roline Heard both of Mansfield, a sister Alma Heard of Winder; two granddaughters, Jacqueline B. Heard and Chiquita Heard; two grandsons Andre’ Heard and Zoin Heard; eight great-grandchildren Shilethia Heard, Marquest Blackwell, Anguishes Heard, Ashley Cook, Asia Cook, Deja Heard, Khanyie Heard and Justin Harp, one granddaughter-in-law Alyssa Head and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral service was held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 27 at Indian Creek Baptist Church with the Rev. Bobby Patman Sr., pastor officiating.

Her nephews and friends served as casket attendants and her nieces and friends served as flower attendants.

Jones and Turner Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
