Praise God! Dean Strange is coming home on Tuesday of this week! God has brought him a long way and he has yet a long way to go. But he has progressed enough to stand up and take one step or two with the walker! All of this is a miracle after he was so extremely sick! Thanks to all of you that prayed and were so sweet to the family. Please continue to pray for them. Dean is married to the former Cathy Lawrence. She happens to be my great niece. They have three beautiful children.

Billy and Donna Hinesley spent Sunday with Beatrice Smith and Linda at Eatonton.

The Buckhead Baptist Church will have their fall festival October 30 at 6 p.m. They are planning a fantastic time. There will be games, a cake walk, good food and an invitation to you to come.

I couldn’t get information about their homecoming at Swords Community Church. They always have a large crowd, fantastic food and a wonderful time. This time I’m sure that they were in their new building. I’m really proud of that for them.

The Lake Oconee Baptist Chapel Brotherhood meeting was October 8 at 6:30 p.m. There was devotion, music and great food. Invite a friend. On Saturday, Oct.12 there will be a turkey shoot and barbecue at 12 p.m. Come join with us and enjoy the day. The business meeting will be Sunday night, Oct. 20 at 6 p.m. The Christian Ladies Luncheon is on October 19 at 1 p.m. The choir will go to the nursing home on Sunday, Oct. 27 at 2 p.m. The new building is going right along for Sunday school rooms. Anyone that cares to donate may do so.

Wayne Smith had a birthday on October 9. Jazmyn Lietch and Juniper Lietch have birthdays on October 10.

River Rodgers has earned his red belt in Karate. In November he will begin on his black belt. Congratulations!

Chuck and Miriam Foster have two couples that are their friends from Spokane, Washington. They all went on the farm tour. Now they are in Savannah! They will be back on Tuesday.

From looking at the calendar it seems that wrestling must have been last Saturday night. I hope that it holds up. There are some that really enjoy it.

Last Saturday was a special time for my husband and me. Although our anniversary was September 24 we wanted to celebrate it last week on October 4. We invited a few relatives and a few neighbors, not a large crowd at all. But then some could not come. I have one relative that can tell some funny things that had us in stitches continually. They say that laughter is good for you. Well if that is so we all got a good dose of it! He can tell all of these truthful events that are funny without a grin while we all laughed. There was plenty of food from barbecue to fried chicken to peas to a beautiful wedding cake that was made by my niece. She copied our picture, made it heart-shaped on each side. She out did herself on this cake.

We had so much fun that I have already planned another party sometime in the not too distant future. I’m looking forward to the next 60 years and the next party. Whew! Do you think we can make it?
