On this Resurrection Sunday we had good attendance present for Sunrise and morning worship services. We always welcome all visitors that come to worship with us and pray each one is blessed by coming and will come as God leads to any of our services. We are all blessed by the presence of our visitors when they come. The call to worship was by the choir. James Harold Smith deacon of the week gave the morning welcome and opened the service with prayer. Abby Janson played an instrumental on the flute.
The choir special, “I’m Forgiven, Amazing Love.” Other special, “I’ll Rise Again,” by Peggy Harper. Bro. Ron’s message, “Greatest Sunday in History,” Matthew 28. Today we celebrate the Resurrection of Christ, all sin was bore by Him on the cross, and He took our sin and gave us His robe of righteousness. A miracle has taken place, the stone was rolled away but not to let Jesus out, but to let the people see He had arose by the power of God, the same power lives within us today. The message is a Risen Savior we witness the resurrection by faith. The angel told the women He is not here, He is risen told them to come and see and then told them to go, there was mixed emotions, the women knew He died but He was gone then Jesus revealed Himself to the women, told them to go tell disciples to meet Him in Galilee. This news got out and spread abroad, the authorities got with the Jewish leaders said they would bribe the police, telling them all had been asleep and the disciples had stolen Jesus’ body at night, then the government got in on it, they told them they would stand for Him and all would be okay so they accepted bribe (sounds somewhat like today). Satan is always working but has no power. In the meantime disciples went and met Jesus at Galilee and worshipped him, some still doubted. Jesus told the disciples all power is give unto me in heaven and in earth. Go and teach all nations.
We have the promise of His presence and power. The beautiful flowers in the sanctuary Sunday for Easter were placed by Peggy Harper and Christy Brown.
