What in the Sam Hill are all y’all doin’ out here at Town Park at midnight? I mean really! Well y’all can stay if you promise to hush IT UP! Momma and I are flat gonna catch us a flaky fairy tonight and get rich, rich, rich! That’s right! Listen up little children of Morgan County: Fairies are REAL! And, sometimes they flit around masqueradin’ as fluorescent fireflies! That’s why those dang flirty Fairies love, love, love the annual Firefly Festival in Town Park! Shhhhhh! Did y’all see that? What the? Momma! A huge flock of freakish fairies just lifted Momma up off the ground! SPLASH! Those furious, foolish fairies flat threw Momma in the ding dang Town Park Fountain! Now that’s mean as a hornet! OK little children! Y’all have got to help us catch these mean fairies but we need to know what they look like so keep your eyes peeled and bring or send us your pictures or drawings! If you do The Citizen will give you a fab prize from our very own Antique Sweets!
Speakin’ of bein’ wringin’ wet, this weekend is the fabulous Firefly Festival and Jamie Williams wants all y’all to know that Main Street Vet is hostin’ a great ole big fat dunkin’ booth at their tent on Family Night, which is this Friday, July 26! Right so here’s the deal y’all! Jamie has roped in a bunch of notorious locals to sit in the ding dang dunkin’ booth and y’all are all gonna be able to flat DUNK ‘EM GOOD for just a tiny donation that will go to help the Morgan County Humane Society! Right so, I’m talkin’ Dr. James Williams himself is plannin’ to be a dunkee as is the beautiful and slightly-shorter-than-Biz-Buzz Babs Johnson! Oh and Jim Winkler too – now Jim we know you don’t know that you’ve agreed to be a dunkee but honey you have! We can’t wait! And, Jep Paschal! Is that you laughin’? Well honey you can wipe that smile right off your face ‘cause you also agreed to be a dunkee! Thank you Jep! Now all you kids start getting’ your softball arms in shape so you can hit the target!

Oh and I almost forgot! We have a new fantastic shop in Madison! I’m talkin’ ‘bout the new location and expanded space for the Madison Artists Guild Shop located at 217 West Jefferson St., in downtown Madison across from Town Park! I popped in there the other day to visit with the Guild’s Executive Director Elizabeth Collins! Honey the shop is beautiful! Plus the art for sale is flat fabulous! In fact some 25 artists are sellin’ their work from pottery, jewelry, paintings and artisan leather bags to stained glass pieces, photography and hand-painted scarves. Oh and the best part is that Elizabeth says they now have plenty of room to host art classes! Love it! Y’all get over there and check it out! You’re gonna flip ‘cause the art is beautiful and is affordable!
