Celia Evans, 64, of Rutledge died Saturday, January 17, 2009. She was a member of Berean Baptist Church in Social Circle.

    Sara Douglass Thomas, 101, passed away January 12, 2009 in her home in Buckhead, surround by her family.

Dr. Kenneth Fortson, 57, of Social Circle, died January 7, 2009. He was born in Elbert County on July 4, 1951 to Margaret Dye Fortson and the late Weymon Fortson. He was preceded in death by Kyle’s son, the late Frank Scott Williams.

Rene Christmas, 58, of Madison, died January 10, 2009 at Athens Regional Medical Center. She was the daughter of the late Gilbert and Thelma S. Herrin. She loved traveling to the mountains and spending time with her grandchildren.
