Weyman Ray James Sr., 71, of Madison died Saturday, January 17, 2009. He was born October 20, 1937 in Morgan County to William C. James Sr. and Willie Nell Narvil James. He married Patricia Barnett of Oconee County and made their home in Madison. He was retired from Hercules, Inc. in Covington. Mr.

    Tyrone Bishop, 57, died January 12, 2009. He was born November 28, 1951 to the late Rev. James and Mildred Bishop. After graduation he enlisted in the United States Navy, where he served several terms. He later joined the Merchant Marines as a long shoreman. In 1974 he was united in marriage to Delia H.

    James Perry Atkinson, 65, died Monday, January 12, 2009 at his home. He was born October 13, 1943. His parents were Herman and Louise Jones Atkinson. He was married to Esther Mullins Atkinson. For years Mr. Atkinson had been employed in the construction supply business.

    Mary Payne Bratcher, 90, of Rutledge died January 18, 2009. She was born June 24, 1918 in Rome to Horace G. Payne and Joseph Thomas Payne. She was married to the late James O. Bratcher. She was a homemaker. She moved to Morgan County in 2002 from Decatur. Mrs. Bratcher was a member of Harvest Time Church. She enjoyed gospel music and visiting with friends.

    Georgie Mae Carpenter, 92, died Tuesday, January 13, 2009 at her home surrounded by her family. She was born May 7, 1916 to George and Cora Lee Lynch. She grew up and married in Morgan County, spending her entire life here. She was married to Lester M. Carpenter and she was a homemaker that enjoyed gardening and her family.

    Larry John Hill, 57, died Wednesday, January 7, 2009 at Morgan Memorial Hospital in Madison. He was born in Morgan County on September 27, 1951 the son of the late Mary Ella Hill Copenny.
