We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of Mike Cole, 41, of Buckhead.

Allene Cross King died Friday, April 24, 2009. A memorial graveside service was held at the Madison City Cemetery in Madison Sunday, April 26, at 4 p.m.

Mr. George Farris Stone, 69, of Ranger, died Thursday, April 23, 2009 at Floyd Medical Center in Rome following an extended illness. He was born in Pickens County, Georgia on February 23, 1940, son of the late Onice and Julie Young Stone. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Neal (N.A.) Stone.

Services for Elizabeth Wilkes Savelle, 86, of Chula, were 3 p.m., Sunday, April 26, 2009, at Ochlocknee Baptist Church. The Rev. Dennis Norman officiated and interment followed in Ochlocknee City Cemetery. Mrs. Savelle died April 22, 2009 at Phoebe Worth Medical Center in Sylvester.

Eddie Lewis “Bill” Haley Sr., 56, of Buckhead died April 20, 2009 after a brief illness. He was born December 16, 1952 in Morgan County to Marvin “Buck” Haley and Edna Ruth Haley. He was employed as a heavy equipment operator working for Morgan County. He was a member of Apalachee Baptist Church. Mr. Haley enjoyed fishing, playing cards and working on cars.
