Lela Anne Buchanan Laseter and Kyle Taylor Ward

Lela Anne Buchanan Laseter and Kyle Taylor Ward were united in holy matrimony April 4, 2009 in a beautiful outdoor ceremony at Madison Oaks Inn and Gardens.

Miss Laseter is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Buchanan and Mrs. Joe Laseter and the late Mr. Laseter. She is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Michael Laseter, all of Madison.

Mr. Ward is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. A. M. Young and Mrs. Roy P. Ward and the late Mr. Ward. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. L. Joe Hensley of Monroe and Mr. and Mrs. R. Alan Ward of Madison.

The grounds of Madison Oaks were decorated with palms, ferns and white flowers. Pedestals on either side of the aisles featured arrangements of roses, calla lilies, snapdragons and hydrangeas.

A variety of classical nuptial music was provided by Amati Strings.

The bride and her father arrived at the ceremony in a horse-drawn carriage. Rev. Jeff Davis officiated at the double-ring ceremony. Given in marriage by her parents, she was lovely in a candlelight silk poie de soie dress by Rivinni. The strapless gown featured a heavily embroidered and beaded bodice. The tiered skirt fell to a chapel-length train. She chose to wear the veil worn by her mother on her wedding day. The ivory silk mantilla was cathedral length satin bound and featured a headpiece of French flowerettes.

The bride wore a pearl necklace belonging to her maternal grandmother. In addition she wore a gold bracelet given by her great-great-great uncle to his bride Lyra on their wedding day September 6, 1887. She carried a beautiful bouquet of blush roses and hydrangeas. Tucked into her flowers was a white handkerchief made by Mrs. Marvin Barrett, aunt of the groom. There was the traditional six pence in her shoe.

Mary Cameron Pritchard and Christopher Eric Chumley

The marriage of Miss Mary Cameron Pritchard, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Alwyn Wallace Bryant of Midlothian, Virginia, and Daniel Harris Pritchard, II of Athens to Christopher Eric Chumley, son of Mrs. Deborah Pugh Tschan of Newport, North Carolina and Mr. and Mrs. William Michael Chumley of Hampton, Virginia took place August 15, 2009 at the Spring House on the lawn of The Greenbrier in White Sulphur Springs, West Virginia.  The Reverend W. Brent Sturm, pastor of Emmanuel Methodist Church in White Sulphur Springs, officiated at the double-ring ceremony.

Miss Pritchard is the granddaughter of Andrew Boyd Pritchard of Madison
and the late Mrs. Pritchard, and Barbara Kell Evans of Midlothian, Virginia and the late Davis Mahan Evans.  Mr. Chumley is the grandson of the late George Young Chumley, Jr., formerly of Hampton, Virginia, the late Mr. and Mrs. Bruce Hugh

Saunders, formerly of Hampton, Virginia, and the late Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Theodore Pugh, Jr., formerly of Engelhard, North Carolina.

The bride was escorted by her father to the ceremony in a horse drawn carriage and given in marriage by her parents. She wore a beaded ball gown with scalloped neckline and train and a handmade crystal headpiece with a cathedral length veil. Her bouquet of white mini calla lilies, snapdragons and lisianthus was accented with stargazer lilies.

Mrs. Jessica Whitt Dodge of Virginia Beach was the matron of honor.  Bridesmaids were Ellen Monday Drake, Diana Kar Taylor and Abby Lena Pond all of Richmond.  The flower girl was Ann Dickinson Jordon of Charleston, West Virginia, cousin of the bride.
