Senior Center Gets A Boost
Submitted by editor on Wed, 07/16/2008 - 13:37.Central Georgia EMC made a contribution of more than $3,000 to the Morgan County Senior Center at the Morgan County Board of Commissioners meeting on July 1. The contribution was made possible by the EMC's "Operation Round Up," which provides grant money to fund, in this case, programs at the Senior Center.

On Saturday, July 5, lightening struck a telephone pole located outside the eighth grade hallway of Morgan County Middle School, shutting down all power in the adjoining wing and damaging one classroom’s computer equipment.
Morgan County BOC lets $1 million pool bid

The Morgan County Recreation Commission met July 11 and unanimously recommended that the Morgan County Board of Commissioners award the bid to build the proposed aquatics facility to Southern Steel Co.
Bill Wood, Recreational Department director, presented that recommendation, along with a look at the new plans to the commission Tuesday.
The total bid from Southern Steel Co. was $1,098,581, more than $45,000 higher than USA Pools' $1,053,000 bid.
