JV Dogs open region strong, defeat Jackson Co. 46-32

The Morgan County High School junior varsity Bulldogs opened region competition last week with a win over the Jackson County junior varsity Panthers by a score of 46-32.

Academic, behavior issues keep key Bullpups benched last week

Two key players for the Morgan County Bullpups were benched because of academic and behavior issues for last Wednesday’s match-up against Carver Middle School.

As a result, the Pups suffered a 34-17 loss.

Turnovers key in loss to Thomson

After giving up a total of 89 points in their first two games, the Morgan County Bulldogs suffered a 94-71 loss to the Thomson Bulldogs Friday.

“I have never been a part of a game with that much scoring,” Head Coach Charlemagne Gibbons said. “Turnovers hurt  us bad.”

Lady Dogs relentless against Thomson Lady Dogs, 51-20

The Morgan County Lady Dogs started strong, and finished even stronger against the Thomson Lady Dogs Friday, capturing a 56-26 victory.

The win moved the Lady Dogs to 3-0 on the season.

Morgan was scheduled to travel to Franklin County High School on Tuesday to begin region play against Franklin County.

Pups hold on to defeat rival Greene, blowout Monticello

When rival Greene County comes to town, its always a show.

And the Morgan County Bullpups gave the whited out fans something to cheer about Friday as they held on to defeat the Tigers by a final score of 51-50.

JV Lady Dogs victorious, 29-24; JV Dogs fall to Thomson, 54-27

The Morgan County junior varsity Lady Dogs tipped off play Friday against Thomson with a 29-24 victory.

Starting the game strong, the Lady Dogs ended the first quarter with a commanding 13-4 lead.

That lead would dwindle to 16-11 after scoring only three points through out the second quarter.
