OMG! I’m . . . chokin’ . . . on . . . my coffee! Big back slap! Thanks! But, Ding Dang! Did y’all read that headline: “It Pays to be Tall.” Well slap my head and call me Silly! Some dad blasted researchers in  Australia found that the taller you are the more money you earn! That flat burns me up! Let’s do the math: I’m 5 feet tall and my handsome husband is 6 feet, 4 inches tall which translates into me getting’ the paycheck shaft! That does it! Now where in tarnation is my husband’s credit card! Ha! Do y’all hear that? Honey, it must be shoppin’ time ‘cause the cash registers are just a cha-chingin’! Talk ‘bout Retail Therapy! Let’s go!

    First up to Amelia’s where I can buy me some fab platform Yellow Box sandals! Perf! I’m four inches taller and feel way richer already! Ok now onto Whidby Jewelers located at 127 West Jefferson St., for some fantastic graduation gift ideas!  Ok so owner Ben Whidby says they’ve got all kinds of perfect gifts for Morgan County’s Class of 2009 grads! Like fab sterling charm bracelets! They even have a little diploma charm! Oh and honey nothin’ says congrats better than pearls! I’m talkin’ pearl earrings, bracelets and beautiful strands. It just doesn’t get classer than that! And, I mean all Southern Belles have got to have their pearls! Oh and for those guys there are the tried and true Swiss Army watches that’ll get ‘em to their college classes on time!  Ok so . . .  STOP THE PRESSES! Look at those sparklelishous diamond-studded 14k gold earrings! Honey, did I tell y’all I just received my doctorate degree in Street Smarts from the University of Life! That means I’m a graduate too! So my really tall husband should have no prob payin’ for these earrings that only cost $1,839! Thanks honey! Can’t wait to flash that bling! Get over to Whidby today and get your favorite grad a great gift!

    Town & Country has got it goin’ on for those men on your grad list! You can give those cute boys fab belts, preppy madras and seersucker Berle shorts, golf shirts, Northface shorts and flip-flops, oh-so fantastic Fossil shaving kits and wallets and honey no Southern graduate can be sent off to college without some really trendy cool shades and Town & Country has ‘em! Owner Ginger Gardner says the Costa Del Mar brand is a number-one best seller but she also says the Suncloud and Native are popular as well! Hey and don’t forget the Fossil collegiate watches! Y’all get off your bowhonkers and check it all out!

    This just in. Saturday, June 6 at Dog Ear Books located at 126 Academy St., in Madison Markets, there’s gonna be a Summertime Sidewalk Book signing event with five national bestselling authors from our very own Madison-based Knight Agency! Ok so Knight Agency founder and President Deidre Knight (Red Kiss) will be there along with Jennifer St. Giles (Kiss of Darkness), Maria Geraci (Bunco Babes Tell All), Debbie Giusti (Protecting Her Child) and Shannon K. Butcher (Burning Alive)!  Can’t wait to get me a stack of Beach Books!

    Ok now . . . y’all don’t forget that this Thursday night, May 21 is Concert on the Green behind Town 220 and Madison Markets with Tropical Breeze, the University of Georgia’s steel drum band! You do not want to miss this fantastic band! Ok  . . . it all starts at 6 p.m. and goes til 8 p.m.! Somebody (and I think you know who) better make us up an extra big batch of margaritas!
