Dateline Nepal – Mamma! Are you awake? Those Temple horns, yakkin’ yaks and dome tents are drivin’ me bats! Hey! Today’s an acclimatization rest day, but I say instead of restin’, we chance it, sneak off and beat everyone else to Mt. Everest Base Camp! Yeah! Gemmy a swig of that white lightenin’! Now that’s what I call the Breakfast of Champions! Ok let’s start trekkin’! Dad-blast! A blizzard’s a comin’! Quick . . . Let’s take shelter in that mountain cave over yonder! Ding dang! Is that a Sherpa over there? No! It’s a ding dang Yeti, the Bigfoot of the Himalayas! Hush up and stop cryin’ Momma or it’ll hear you! Hey! Put us down you ugly Yeti! HELP! What the? We’re free! Somebody’s done thrown an ice ax and cobbled that Yeti! Don’t look now but our rescuers are none other than Madisonians Felton Jenkins and Brian Lehman! Thanks boys!
That’s right y’all! Felton and Brian are fixin’ to head over to Nepal on April 17 to climb to the Mt. Everest base camp! Hey and Brian is askin’ for sponsorships for his trek to benefit the Madison-Morgan County Unit of the Boys and Girls Club specifically to pay for memberships for kids who wouldn’t otherwise be able to attend and second to buy equipment on the wish list! Wow! Climbin’ Mt. Everest is dang good exercise, which reminds me! Greg Stewart, owner of the Madison Fitness Center wanted me to tell all y’all that beginnin’ this Saturday, April 4, Weight Watchers will now be meetin’ at Madison Fitness Center located at 1290 Eatonton Road in Madison! Right . . . so weigh-in begins at 8:30 and the Weight Watchers meetin’ begins at 9 a.m.! Y’all join this fabulous weight loss program! Oh and Greg also wanted me to tell y’all that his fitness center now offers real live tannin’! Yeah! Y’all check it all out!
Who in the Sam Hill is bangin’ on my front door? Oh it’s Megan Morris of Morgan Memorial Hospital! Come on in Megan and tell it! Wow! That’s great scoop! Ok so Megan says all y’all had best plan to participate in the hospital’s 3rd Annual Spaghetti Dinner on Tuesday, April 7! Tickets are just $6 or four for $20! Now that’s a recession buster if there ever was one! Plates can be picked right on up at the hospital between 5 p.m. and 7 p.m.! Oh and all proceeds benefit Relay for Life! So Molly Lesnikowski, owner of Red Doors Studio at 104 West Main Street in downtown Rutledge, wanted me to tell y’all she’s hostin’ an Open House party on April 18 from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. called A Fresh Bouquet of Spring Artworks from select local artists! Honey Molly says to get ready to nosh among the posies! Brilliant!
Oh and the Back to Wellness Studio at 113 Fairplay in Rutledge is flat Where It’s At! Honey, I just saw yoga instructor Eva Young and she’s got everyone in Rutledge movin’ to the groovin’! I’m talkin’ Country Dancin’ on Monday nights, Zoomba and Yoga! I mean there’s somethin’ happenin’ all the time! Y’all call The Back to Wellness Studio at 706-557-0211 to get the schedule!
