Biz-Buzz
By Dianne Lively Yost
Note to readers: I’ve missed y’all! My parents in Huntsville, Ala., needed some help so I spent some time with them. My column will not appear for another two weeks because I’m going to be with my sister in Birmingham while she recovers from surgery that will heal her breast cancer and following that I’m going to be with my Daddy while he gets a brand new super-charged pacemaker put in to strengthen his heart. I still want your Buzz on Biz so if you have news for me, just pop me an email at pdyost@aol.com and put Biz Buzz in the subject line.
Come on y’all! You drive ‘cause I just took me a nerve pill! Momma’s done gone berserk! We’ve gotta head over there right smack this minute ‘cause a mouse is in the house whippin’ up a ruckus! Wow! That was fast! Momma! Where’s the mealy mouse? Yikes! It’s right scary up there in the attic! Get the flash light! What in tarnation? That ain’t no mouse! Whatever’s up there is BIG as all DAYLIGHTS! I can hear ‘em stompin’ and a jumpin’! Hey! That nerve pill works! I ain’t scared a bit! Let’s haul this creature outta there! You open the attic door and I’ll charge in and whop it on the head so hard its brain is gonna roll around in its head for days! On the count of three: One . . . two . . . three! WHAM! SLAM! What the? Call 911! A Leprechaun’s done got me in a headlock and honey this Leprechaun fell out of the ugly tree and hit every ding dang branch on the way down! HELP!
Yay! The Madison Police Department has that Leprechaun locked up in the Morgan County Jail and I heard tell . . . Ring . . . Ring . . . Hold on y’all and let me get my cell . . . What! He’s out and he’s workin’ for the City of Madison! Ok y’all! That was Madison Main Street Director Ann Huff and she says that the Leprechaun’s turned real sweet and has even given the City of Madison his Pot ‘o Gold! That’s right! And y’all can all register to win it! Here’s the deal, you register to win at these fabulous Downtown Madison businesses: Amelia’s Apparel & Accessories & The Ruffled Rooster, Antique Sweets, Artisan’s Alley, Bliss, Godfrey-Cox, In High Cotton, Laughing Moon, Lilywind Kids, Madison ChopHouse Grille, Madison Markets, Pure Bliss Spa & Shop, The Creative Mark, The Madison Gift Mart & Café and Whidby Jewelers. Right . . . so on St. Patrick’s Day, Tuesday March 17, there’s gonna be a drawin’ at the Madison ChopHouse Grille to see who wins the Pot ‘o Gold! You don’t have to be present to win, but y’all come ‘cause it’s gonna be fun!
