Jerry Wayne Igo

Jerry Wayne Igo, 54, of Madison died Thursday, January 29, 2009. He fought a battle with cancer for 21 months. He was born August 28, 1954 in White Sulfur Spring, West Virginia to Herbert and Marie White Igo. He served in the United States Army. He most recently worked as a supervisor for Pilgrims Pride.
Mr. Igo was a member of Rutledge Baptist Church. He enjoyed reading and history. He also enjoyed sports and was an avid University of Georgia fan.
He is survived by his wife of 22 years, Gail Mealor Igo and three children, Jennifer Lollie, Shawna Grindle and Megan Jill Igo; his mother, Marie Owens; a sister, Linda McDaniel and two brothers, Herbert Igo (Wanda) and David Igo; grandchildren, Ethan, Trent and Seth Grindle and Marc Wade; and other survivors are JoAnne Ervin, Wayne and Elaine Mealor and James and Linda Mealor, and a number of nieces and nephews. His father, Herbert C. Igo and step-father, Grover Owens, preceded him in death.
Funeral service was held at 2 p.m. Sunday at A. E. Carter Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Wayne Ghann officiating. Interment followed at the Mealor Family Cemetery.
A.E. Carter Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
