Madison Police Department
    • On December 18 a burglary complaint was filed at a West Jefferson Street location after a man reported that someone had broken glass from an entry door entered the store and removed a cash drawer.
    Reports state that the cash drawer was hidden in the bottom of a cabinet in the store. Nothing else appeared to be missing, reports state.
    • On December 18 a larceny complaint was filed at a South Main Street location after a man reported that he observed two males jump a back yard fence and remove a gold Schwinn and a red Trek bicycle.
    The man said he observed the men, who appeared to be between 16 and 20-years-old standing near the bicycles and after he retrieved a phone to call police noticed that the men and the bicycles were gone.
    • On December 22 a larceny from building complaint was filed at an Eatonton Road location after a woman reported that two males had entered the storage area of a drug store and removed approximately $7,000 worth of cigarettes. Reports state that the woman located one of the males in the storage area and escorted him from the store but did not know that another man was hidden in the storage area.
    The men pushed the cartons of cigarettes under a garage door.
    • On December 23 a burglary complaint was filed at a Penor Street location after a woman reported that after she observed two men walk past her house, she heard a loud noise come from a neighbor’s house.
    The complainant said she later observed the same two men running in the woods behind the neighbor’s house.
    Officers arrived and determined that some Christmas presents had been removed from the neighbor’s house.
    The presents were recovered near the wooded area behind the house.
    Also, the neighbor reported that someone had taken her son’s Xbox 360 game device.
    It was not recovered. Officers found damage to a door knob at the home.
    • On December 23 a damage to property complaint was filed at a Hancock Street location after a woman reported that someone had poured an unknown liquid onto the hood of her Chevrolet S10 pickup truck.
    The liquid caused the paint on the hood to bubble and peel.
    • On December 24 Annie Bell Miller, 31, Greensboro, and Alicia Shunte Miller, 24, Greensboro, were both arrested and charged with shoplifting after they allegedly took more than $177 worth of merchandise from a Lions Club road department store without paying for the items.
    Reports state that store employees observed the Millers allegedly scan some items at a self-help checkout station but not all items. They were detained outside the store and later arrested.
    • On December 24 Gustavo Vega Jr., 31, Athens, was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct and battery after an officer responded to a complaint on East Washington Street that Vega was assaulting a woman.
    Reports state when an officer arrived he allegedly observed Vega holding the woman in a head lock and striking her.
    The officer reported that he drew his sidearm and ordered Vega to cease and to lay down on the ground.
    Vega was then arrested. Vega told authorities that he had earlier been attacked by three men after he was attempting to interrupt the sale of crack cocaine to the woman.
    • On December 25 Dalelon Hogan, 40, Madison, was arrested and charged with simple assault, terroristic threats and obstructing police after he allegedly struck a hole in a bathroom door during a fit of rage and threatened to kill a woman and her family. Reports state that during his arrest, Hogan also allegedly became combative with officers and had to be placed in an isolation cell at the Morgan County Detention Center.
    • On December 26 a theft by taking complaint was filed at a Commerce Street location after a woman reported that someone had taken two check books from a box of check books.
    The woman said she suspected her daughter and the daughter’s boyfriend may have taken the checks because they had been staying with her and, the complainant alleged, the daughter had taken checks and medicine from the complainant before.
    Officers located the daughter at a local motel but the daughter denied knowledge of the checks’ location.
    • On December 26 a larceny complaint was filed at a North Main Street location after a woman reported that someone had taken her four-month-old Mastiff Pit Bull puppy from her yard. The dog is described as white with a black spot on it’s forehead.

Morgan County Sheriff’s Office
    • On December 27 Fredrick Antonio Ruff, 47, Buckhead, was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct after a deputy was called to a Baldwin Dairy Road home because Ruff allegedly refused to leave. Reports state that Ruff was allegedly cursing at a woman and was intoxicated and threatened to “cut” the woman.
    Ruff was given a courtesy ride  to another location but returned to the Baldwin Dairy Road location and began to curse at the woman again. He was then arrested.
    • On December 25 a burglary complaint was filed at an Indian Creek Trail, Rutledge, location after a man reported that his wife was at home alone when she heard someone outside the garage.
    Two dogs inside the garage began to bark and the woman turned on the exterior lights and the noise stopped and the dogs stopped barking.
    The man then returned home and found two pry marks on the garage door.
    • On December 26 an identity fraud complaint was filed at a Cedar Grove Road, Buckhead, location after a woman reported that she had been alerted by her bank that someone was writing fraudulent checks on her account.
    Reports state that six checks totaling more than $2,000 had been written on the woman’s account.
    The complainant said that while the account number was hers, she did not recognized the design of the checks.
    • On December 25 a dispute report was filed at a Seven Islands Road location after a man reported that he woke up and had two bite marks, one on his hand and one on his back.
    The man said he was unsure how the bite marks appeared but suspects his girlfriend.
    • On December 24 a battery complaint was filed at a Cochran Road, Buckhead, location after a woman reported that she was asleep when her husband came home.
    The woman said she woke up and asked the man a question regarding the mother of the complainant’s stepson when the man grabbed her by the hair and beat her until he tired.
    The man left the location and could not be located by deputies.
    The woman and her children were transported to a friend’s house.
    • On December 24 an information report was filed at an Atlanta Highway, Rutledge, location after a woman reported that on December 23 at approximately 11 p.m. she was attempting to help her drunk husband get out of a truck when the husband slammed the truck door on the woman’s hand.
    On December 24 at approximately 5 p.m., the woman reported, she was attempting to assist her drunk husband get into the house when the man fell on the woman’s injured hand. The man was asked to leave the residence and complied, reports state.
    • On December 23 a simple assault, stalking, harassing phone call and disorderly conduct complaint was filed at an Atlanta Highway, Rutledge, convenience store after a man reported that a man to whom he owes money had come to the store and threatened him, at one point suggesting that the complainant’s store may catch fire.
    • On December 21 a simple battery complaint was filed at a Seven Islands Road location after a woman reported that during an argument with her father regarding the woman being late with the rent, the father allegedly pushed the complainant and grabbed the complainant’s eight-year-old son.
