Lady Pups stretch record to 6-3

With a stretch of three consecutive victories, the Morgan County Middle School Lady Bullpup softball team moved their record to an impressive 6-3 on the season.

On Friday, September 5, the Lady Pups traveled to Greene County and stunned the Lady Cubs with a 15-0 victory.

Pitcher Victoria Thomas faced a total of 10 batters, hitting one and striking out nine. Rebecca Webb and Laree Vanorden led the team with two hits a piece.

On Tuesday, September 9 the Lady Pups squeezed a 9-8 victory away from Carver Middle School.

The Pups managed nine total hits during the six-inning contest. Maddison Busbee and Vanorden led the team with two hits each. Thomas pitched a complete game to record the win.

A close, 7-6 victory over Social Circle on Friday, September 12 would conclude the Pups three game winning streak.

The game was won in the bottom of the seventh-inning with an RBI single off the bat of Katlyn Messer.

“We are still working hard on fundamentals,” Head Coach Julie Jameson said. “We feel like we haven’t given up and we are real proud of how hard the team is working.”

The Lady Pups last regular season game is scheduled for Friday, September 19 at home against Monticello.
