Anna Margaret Harrison Welch
Margaret Harrison Welch, 79, of Madison died Sunday, September 7, 2008. She was born to Paul Thomas Harrison Sr. and Fronnie Lou Brooks Harrison in Morgan County on May 30, 1929. She was married to Ralph Welch and spent her entire life in Morgan County. She was a homemaker and later a caregiver to the elderly. She was a charter member of Beacon Heights Baptist Church.
Mrs. Welch was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Welch and a sister, Mary Lou Harrison Stewart. She is survived by a brother, Paul Harrison Jr.
Funeral service was held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, September 9 in the chapel at A. E. Carter Funeral Home.

Helen Jane Puckett Florence
Helen Puckett Florence, 83, of Madison died Thursday, September 4, 2008. She was born January 29, 1925 in Bartow County to Paul and Lula Lester Puckett. She was married to Sammy E. Florence Sr. Mrs. Florence spent much of her life in East Point, where she ran the family business, Ben Hill Hardware. She later moved to Madison to be near family. She enjoyed crocheting, reading and gardening in her flower beds.
She is survived by a son, Sammy Florence and Debbie and three grandchildren, John Adam Florence, Amanda Florence and Eddie Florence.
Funeral service was held Sunday, September 7 at Rutledge Baptist Church with the Rev. Wayne Ghann officiating. Interment followed at Fairview Cemetery in Madison.

Staci Suzanne Chestnut
Staci Suzanne Chestnut, beloved daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Joe Slocum, went home to be with the Lord August 9, 2008. She was born in Jackson County, Commerce.
She graduated with honors from Truitt McConnell College, Mercer University and received her Masters in Clinical Psychology from University of South Alabama. She was employed with the Department of Human Resources, Division of Family and Children’s Services as Social Services Administrator.
She is survived by her parents, two children, Rebecca and Zach, three sisters, her twin Suzette Brown (Tim), Michele Mines and Lynn Rangel (Juan) and eight nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her paternal grandmother, Beatrice Slocum.
She was a member of Maysville Baptist Church.
Funeral services were held at Maysville Baptist Church at 2 p.m. August 13 with Dr. J. K. Segars and Rev. Brian Stowe officiating. Burial was in the Nails Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.
